Thousands of people across Dorset have already had their spring COVID-19 vaccination, helping to protect themselves and others from serious illness. Across the South West, almost half a million vaccinations have now been delivered this spring.
Spring COVID-19 vaccinations are available for just two more weeks until 17 June. There is still time for people who have not yet come forward, especially for those who could be at greater risk of becoming very unwell from COVID-19.
Martin Sale, Lead Vaccination Pharmacist at NHS Dorset and Dorset HealthCare said, “COVID-19 is still making people very unwell. If you’re over 75, or if you have a weakened immune system, please don’t wait. You might be a younger person going through chemotherapy or taking immunosuppressant treatment and you could be one of those most at risk of serious illness from this virus.
“Protection against COVID-19 fades over time, so the vaccination you had in the winter may no longer give you the protection you need.
“Help protect yourself now. Visit the NHS booking system website today or come to a walk-in. The vaccination is quick, free and could make all the difference.”
Spring COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to people aged 75 or older, people with a weakened immune system and to people in care homes for older adults.
To get your spring COVID-19 vaccination, check if you’re eligible and book online, or visit a local walk-in clinic, no appointment needed.
Appointments are only available to book until 16 June, with the last appointments taking place on 17 June.
Upcoming local walk-in clinics include:
