Dorset’s local maternity and neonatal system has released a five year action plan which aims to make sure parents, carers and babies from minority communities and those living in the most deprived areas of the county have equal and equitable access to maternity services.

The plan will focus on improving maternity services and ensuring all families receive care that is fair and that meets their needs. This will include making records available in different languages and formats, staff training, and improved access to perinatal mental health services.

You can read the equity and equality five-year action plan and find out more about what we’re doing to support minority communities on the Maternity Matters Dorset website.
