This website is run by NHS Dorset Integrated Care Board (ICB). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Compliance status
The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
Non-compliance with accessibility regulations
Images
Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. (WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content)
We plan to add text alternatives for all images as part of our accessibility review throughout 2025.
Responsive menu
At 200% and 400% zoom, the focus is not visible on the hamburger menu at top of pages. (WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible)
At 200% and 400% zoom, the focus is not always visible on the hamburger menu. (WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible)
At 200% zoom, the menu automatically expands submenus. (WCAG 3.2.1 On Focus)
We do not have the option to edit, or amend this currently. We will contact the developers of the WordPress theme and see if this can be corrected. We will also investigate an alternative approach to our online information.
Pop-up elements
At 200 and 400% zoom, some pop-up elements may cause issues with keyboard navigation. (WCAG 1.4.4 Resize Text, WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow, WCAG 2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide)
We are looking to replace the function provided by pop-up elements. Silktide may provide a solution.
Content not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
Any documents published following 23 September 2018 will be reviewed, some published documents published after this date may not be accessible. The format of previously published meeting minutes may not be accessible.
Document property fields may be missing. (WCAG 2.4.2 Page titled, WCAG 3.1.1 Language of Page)
Documents may contain colour contrast issues. (WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum))
Documents are automatically tagged and they may contain incorrect or missing tags. (WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships)
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards. We will consider a more resilient process for checking for accessibility issues using built-in tools and prompts prior to upload.
