Overview of committees and sub-committees
NHS Dorset has established a number of committees to assist with the oversight, assurance and delivery of its functions. A summary of the committees can be found below and in the Governance Handbook.
Outcomes Committee
The core purpose of this Committee is to provide oversight and seek assurances that NHS Dorset and partner organisations are delivering on commitments regarding better health outcomes, ensuring delivery against specified outcomes for major transformation/commissioned programmes, assurance around health inequalities and prevention through sub-group escalation reporting including the prevention agenda, reducing inequality and inequity, social and economic development and environmental sustainability.
People Committee
The core purpose of this Committee is to provide oversight and seek assurances that NHS Dorset is seeking to mitigate people risks during transition to the new ICB cluster arrangements.
Quality and Commissioning Committee
The core purpose of this Committee is to provide oversight and seek assurances that NHS Dorset and partner organisations are delivering on commitments regarding delivery and effectiveness of quality and safety across the system, delivery and effectiveness of the ICS Clinical Strategy, quality governance including quality planning, quality control, quality improvement and assurance, patient/people experience, capacity and capability to drive a quality improvement culture and commissioning intentions and oversight to include Primary Care and Specialised Commissioning.

Risk and Audit Committee
The core purpose of this Committee is to provide oversight and seek assurances on the adequacy of governance, risk management and internal control processes within the ICB including financial governance, corporate governance, risk management and internal and external audit.
Remuneration Committee
The core purpose of this Committee is to support the Board to exercise the functions of the ICB in the Health and Care Act 2022 regarding appointments, remuneration and allowances.
