NHS Dorset, Dorset Women CIC and partners are working together to invest time and focus on women’s health to achieve the actions described in the Women’s Health Strategy for England.
We want to empower women at the earliest stage in their health and care journey by developing a central online hub for information, self-help and advice, which will be available in the autumn. We also want to improve women’s experiences of their healthcare – especially when they have to use multiple services, where there is inequality for some women, or where waiting times for services are long. We want to make sure we are listening to and actively working alongside women at every stage of decision making to ensure their experience and outcomes are the very best they can be.

Marianne Storey, Chair of Dorset Women CIC said, “Dorset Women CIC are so pleased to be working alongside NHS colleagues on this important project focusing on women’s health. Women have some very specific healthcare needs, and growing evidence shows that some women experience bias and can have a less than satisfactory experience when they seek help with their health. Nobody wants that for any women in Dorset and so this project aims to make sure every woman here gets the help they need when they need it. Most importantly, we want to make sure women have all the right information and opportunities they need to make their own decisions about their bodies and take good care of themselves.”
