PPGs across Dorset are being encouraged to help spread word of the annual GP survey, which will be sent to people from January.
The survey, which is sent to approximately 2.4 million people nationally is managed by the market research company Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England. A random selection of patients from each GP practice across England will be contacted by letter or text with an invitation to complete the survey. The GP practices will not know which patients have been contacted and have no influence over who received a survey.
Results from the GP patient survey are published every summer and are used by people to better understand their local GP practices. The more people that complete the survey will mean the results are more likely to be accurate, which will benefit PPGs, GP practices and perspective patients! Link to the current survey.
The GP patient survey team have produced a number of resources to help promote the survey including posters, website posts, newsletter templates, social media posts and web banners. In addition we have created text message templates that can be used.
PPGs can help by sharing the word about the patient survey in their local communities along with helping their local practice to promote the survey to fellow patients.
Jim and Gill are available to help PPGs or GP practices promote the annual GP survey, please contact them or email communication@nhsdorset.nhs.uk for support.
