The Dorset Youth Representatives Group is a networking group for people who work and engage with children and young people across Dorset.

The network was set up in November 2020 and is facilitated by NHS Dorset’s public engagement team and children and young people’s services team.

The aim of the group is for organisations across the county to link up on projects that involve young people. We hope that by meeting and having regular conversations, we can go some way to ensuring that young people are kept at the heart of decision making (when it affects them). We also hope that we can continue to improve our working practices by sharing our learning and our experiences, working together to avoid duplication and sharing opportunities for young people to get involved.

The group meets every two months and has over 50 members from across more than 35 organisations within Dorset’s integrated care system (including Dorset Youth Association, Parent Carer groups, BCP and Dorset Council, Dorset Police and many more). These people all work with young people and act as a representative/conduit.
