New to Type 2 is for people newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It is structured education which enables people to understand their diagnosis and make informed choices about things that will affect their health and wellbeing.

Programme aim
To enable people to understand their diagnosis and make informed choices about things that will affect their health and wellbeing.
When to offer
At diagnosis and/or at any point within the first year of diagnosis.
Duration of service
2 x 3 hour sessions.
Mode of delivery
Face-to-face or virtual.
Age criteria
18+ (adult).
Weight criteria
None.
Criteria regarding history of diabetes or hypertension
Must have a type 2 diabetes diagnosis within the last year.
